IR Services - Technical

IR Infrared Services can help you identify defects with our certified Level III Thermographers early on before they become a major problem. Our state-of-the-art infrared cameras can convert radiation into thermal data. The thermal data is then recorded as still images, digital video or conventional videotape displaying the differences in temperatures by using different colors. Our Level III Thermographers understand those thermal patterns associated with detecting issues and are able to provide you with an analysis locating those problem areas.

Training Tools for those interested in IR

On the Infrared Training Center (ITC) website, you can view the online IR Thermography Primer for the basics of how infrared thermography works.

Thermographic Web Workshops

Infrared Thermography is an important technology for proactive maintenance and condition monitoring in any reliability program. It is extremely useful in detecting early potential failures in electrical and mechanical systems so orderly planning and scheduling can be completed with lower operational disruption.

Please join expert Infrared instructor Wayne Ruddock for a Basic Level 1 course for Infrared Thermography delivered over 23 weeks in 2009.

These Reliability Roadmap Web Workshops ensure that the students gain confidence in their ability to operate their IR equipment. Upon completion of the course the participants should have mastered the skills necessary to not only operate their infrared system but to perform various inspections and report on their findings.

Insurance Publications (CNA)

"The Fabricator," an FMA Publication, has a Business Sense article on how to use infrared inspection to your benefit: "Find Hot Spots Before a Flare-Up."

The following two articles by the Continental Casualty Company discuss the risks that can be controlled with Infrared Thermography.

Standards - NFPA, ASTM, Infraspection Institute
